Sorry for the title, too many twitts and too many ‘gets. Finally, I’ve completed the release version of my Twitter widget for Yahoo! Widgets or also known as Konfabulator before it was bought by Yahoo!. For sometime now I’ve been wanting to create a widget again for Yahoo! Widgets because the last widget I published was a few years back and it was something basic. The Twitter widget idea started just last Monday and I began coding right away. I actually wanted to call it a “sick” widget because it was worked and finished on the days I had a flu

So I submitted my widget today for approval and I hope to hear back from Y! folks hopefully this week. So TwittY! is yet to be seen in their gallery until they say so. Nevertheless, you’ll get the taste of it now because you can download the widget from the link below. Of course, the widget alone is useless unless you have the Yahoo! Widgets installed on your machine.

So what is TwittY!? It’s a Twitter widget that allows you to view the tweets from Twitter, whether from the people you follow or the public timeline. It also allows you to update your status from within the widget itself. The dock on the Yahoo! Widgets (included in the installation) monitors the number of new tweets that you received. I’m still working on adding more features and integrating more functionalities so you might encounter some limitations on this version of this widget. But if you just want to view tweets and send updates, then this little TwittY! will do it for you.

Click this link to download and install TwittY! on your computer. Make sure that you have the Yahoo! widgets installed on your system first. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know.

The anticipated deal between Microsoft and Yahoo is now off. The news is all over the internet today and the rumor is Yahoo stayed firm with $37/share while Microsoft would only want to go as high as $33/share. Steve Ballmer withdrew the offer today putting an end to a three-month buyout saga. Microsoft will not even pursue the hostile take over anymore. It’s going to be a sad day for Yahoo’s shareholders on Monday. If the deal has gone through, Yahoo’s stock is expected to soar in the opening market this Monday but with the current situation, I won’t be surprised if the stock price goes back below $20. So “Microhoo” is a no go. On Monday, it’ll be a “Microhuhu” for a lot of shareholders.
