It was on this date where I was laid off from work and my wife and I decided that I would be the one staying home for a while until we have spent good amount of time grooming our kids. I have to admit, it wasn’t easy, physically, emotionally and financially. But the joy of being with your kids and personally guiding them almost 24/7 can’t be surpassed with anything in this world. No amount of money can ever measure up to spending time with your children. This is why sometimes I ask why some parents (although financially okay) would put their kids on day care all day or would rather spend over time at work instead of spending more time with their family. I may be partial on that subject and I just don’t understand the logic… maybe.

Being a stay home parent is a huge challenge but remember that God is ever loving and caring!

So we went for the olallieberry instead. It didn’t matter to me, I just want the kids to experience picking berries from the tree. From San Jose, we took the beautiful Hecker Pass road (also called Highway 152) to Watsonville and on our way back we made a detour to Mt. Madonna County Park. We checked out the camp sites there and my wife and I both agreed that this will be one of the campgrounds we will be camping in this year. While we were there, we also went and see the White Fallow Deer – they are really white alright :)

It was great spending quality time with my family today. The nature, the road trip, berry picking with wife and the kids. What more can you ask for!

Aside from the Sansrival cake, check out the card and clifs I got from my wife and kids. The clif bar an shot bloks make me laugh :) Just what I need for my daily routine.
