Once upon a time, my medium for self expression for many years was my own blog site. Then came Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Instagram, Youtube, etc. I have accounts on all of them to have presence across the social media. The challenge I faced was as single source for all my postings. They are all over the place. I tried cross posting, but it was messy. So for the longest time, I got stuck posting on Facebook. All of my friends are in that platform so it just make sense to post my regular updates there. I abandoned my blog and pretty much the other social media sites too that I used to frequent.<\/p>\n
Honestly, Facebook is not my cup of tea. Well it was but I now despised what it has become and the evil influence it has to people. The “Like” button is not something to desire in my opinion. That sense of validation and self-gratification brings more harm to people’s mental health. I’m sick and tired of it. When I share pictures or my travel experiences, I want my friends to make a conversation about it and not just press a button. If no comments are made, that’s fine, we move on to the next post.<\/p>\n
This is why I am going back to blogging, my own little world of expressing myself. There’s no like or dislike button that my readers can click. Every post that I make is something that I want to share publicly to everyone. Some of my posts can be entertaining, inspiring, hurtful or just plain boring. But that’s okay, it’s my blog and this is a free country where we can express our opinions freely as long as we do not cause any harm to anyone. If you don’t like the article I wrote, you are free to leave my blog, just like I am free to write it. If you like what I wrote, thank you, and perhaps we can make use of my blog to help you, help me or help other people in some form.<\/p>\n
This back to blogging post was not supposed to have any content, haha. I got carried away, just like with my previous blogs. This is why I like blogging, it gives me the freedom to write what I want. I can freely expressed myself. Sometimes writing for me is therapeutic, it’s liberating. It’s like riding my motorcycle on an open road.<\/p>\n
