Background

I was born on August 7, 1975 in Olongapo City, Philippines where I spent my whole teenage life. On October of 1994 my whole family migrated to Hawaii. That place was a paradise... awesome weather, nice beaches and lots of green sceneries. But sometimes it's hard to enjoy life and have fun when you don't have the dough. So after a year, I decided to move here in California to seek for a better opportunity.

Life

I am happily married to my beautiful wife, Donna. We tied the knot on October 16, 2005 in Vancouver, Canada. You can check out our stories in our wedding site. We are blessed with two beautiful children, Carmela Angela and Raphael Angelo.

Religion

My whole family and I are active members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ). My late grandfather was a minister in the Church during Bro. Felix Manalo's era. Today, I have three uncles and two cousins that are in the ministry. Most of my relatives are also officers in the Church. I've been holding offices in the Church ever since I was 7 years old. I was a choir member, a teacher, and held different offices in the Christian Family Organization. My family and I are currently registered in the Locale of San Jose, District of Northern California.

Education

My high school alma mater is Olongapo Wesley School. I was a topnotcher and won the school championship competetion in Math. After I graduated in high school, I took my Associate degree in Computer Technician because we were already processing our papers to migrate to the states and going for a 5-year course was not ideal. But I really wanted to go to college so I went to Manila to take entrance examination in several universities. My heart really belongs to Mapua so I ended up going to that school. Mapua Institute of Technology (MIT) is a reputable college and is known to be the best Engineering school in the Philippines. Too bad I wasn't able to graduate because our papers to migrate in the United States was approved and we had to fly out asap. When I arrived here in the States, it took me 5 years before I had a chance to go back to school again. I went to De Anza College for a while and finally to National University in San Jose for my BS in Computer Science. I was working on days and go to school at nights. When the dot-com bubble burst in 2001, I was one of the unfortunate ones that loss a job and I had to drop out from school due to financial difficulties. I know it's never too late to go back to college -- maybe one of these days...

Career

My career started in IT as a computer technicain as I love working and tinkering with electronics and computer hardware. After a while I had my eye on software programming and became interested in web development. My experience in web programming started back in 1996. I've worked for a few Fortune 500 companies in the past such as EA, Genentech, Intel, Quantum, Siebel, Yahoo! and some startup companies. The last corporate company I have worked for was Wink.com which was acquired by MyLife.com.

Hobbies & Toys

I love motorsports or maybe anything that goes fast. I am addicted to cars, gokarts and motorcycles. I am a fanatic and I can talk all day long about sportbikes, cars, races and related stuff. My current rollers are BMW Z3 and Ducati 848 (my ultimate weapon). They are not the fastest and greatest but still a blast to ride specially on the twisties. I really wish to own a very nice exotic car someday. When I become financially capable, I will buy a Ferrari F430 Spider or a Porsche 911 Turbo.

Besides being a piston head, I am also a road cyclist and a mountain biker. In fact I am currently running a cycling club called Team Pedalista, which I started back in 2008. It's just a small group of cyclists who enjoy riding roads and mountain trails.

Also, during the summer, I like to go camping and picnic with my family and friends.

Another side of me is the love for arts and music. I like to draw with pencil and charcoal. I also love photography and Nikon is my gear of choice. Some of my favorite shots are posted on my Photography Site.
