Hitachi Customer Service is Awesome
Kudos goes to Hitachi Global Storage. I had a Serial ATA Deskstar 250GB hard drive for about 2 1/2 years when it died last year. This drive has a 3-year warranty so I went to their website to submit a RMA Request. The process was so easy. All I had to do was enter the serial number of my drive and they take you to a page with instructions on how to send it back. Although the RMA request is simple, they have a stringent guidelines for packaging the drive for shipping. It took me almost a month to get it packaged up… lol. Don’t ask me why. They actually sent me an email reminder, which I like. I already had to send my package otherwise the RMA will expire – it is only valid for a month. So I sent it on Friday, the 23rd and got an email today saying that my replacement hard drive was shipped. Talking about a quick turn around. I was expecting a month to get my hard drive back but hey, it’ll be here in a few days.
I’m happy with my overall experience with this hard drive and with Hitachi’s excellent customer service. Keep up the good work guys!
